SD#67 District Alternative Programming offers alternative educational pathways for students who may find traditional school environments challenging due to personal, social, or emotional circumstances. The Junior and Senior Access and Take a Hike programs are designed to foster growth, resilience, and academic success in a supportive and structured setting.
ConnectEd operates in collaboration with a range of community partners, including the Take a Hike Foundation, OneSky Community Resources, the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Child and Youth Mental Health, and Foundry Penticton. These partnerships help ensure students receive holistic support tailored to their individual needs.
Our programs serve students who may be navigating complex life experiences such as low self-confidence, mental health challenges, emotional regulation challenges, substance use, unstable living situations, involvement with the justice system, or past trauma. We recognize the strength it takes to overcome these barriers and aim to provide a safe, engaging environment where students can thrive both socially and academically.
Through meaningful activities, positive peer and adult relationships, and personalized academic support, our programming helps students reconnect with their learning journey and build a foundation for future success.
